QCPU triumphs in Alculympics 2011

When it rains, it pours.

The four-month intensive training has paid off for QCPU contingent who garnered three championship trophies out of nine sports event during the Alculympics 2011 at Calapan, Oriental Mindoro last March 7-11, 2011.

QCPU Chess, Basketball Women, and Mr. Alculympics gained the top spot after 19 colleges and universities competed for the event championship titles. These were the highest record titles so far since the university participated in the sport competition.

Thanks in part to the coaches who demanded and prodded their players to give their best performance resulted in 4 golds and 4 silvers: Dr. Fernando Omadto and Engr. Romualdo Bisda (Chess); Prof. Nelson Lazare and Mr. Anthony Molacruz (Basketball); Prof. Aurea Reyes and Prof. Edmar Tumomba (Mr and Ms Alculympics); Prof. Tet Raneses, Charmaine Pagtud, and trainor Arnold Panlileo (Pep Squad); Prof. Joseph Petalcorin (Dancesport); Prof. Charmagne Castro and Prof. Edylene Masbad (Badminton); Prof. Mario Caparas, Prof. Jocyphriam Enteria, and Charme Cabale (Athletics); and Grace Josue and Ma. Terresita Gutierrez (Volleyball).

The QCPU delegation was also awarded as the Most Disciplined and Earliest Delegation by the Alculympics Committee of 2011 headed by QCPU Physical Education Department head Prof. Mario Caparas.
